This piece humorously critiques Poseidon, who in mythology assaulted Medusa in Athena’s temple. Instead of him being punished, Medusa was transformed into a monster and blamed — a story that reflects how survivors are often silenced and vilified in patriarchal

societies.

Medusa’s anger is justified, and this work honors that. Here, the roles are reversed: Poseidon wears a crown of phallic symbols, his cold, intimidating gaze driving women away. It’s a satirical call-out of toxic masculinity and the lasting impact of blaming victims rather than perpetrators.
